Ahpek Hill is a local favourite; it's trails are well-defined and there is enough challenge even for the fit ones. Once you get to know the hills, you can "custom" your hike according to your mood: trekking for as long as 4 hours, if you so desire. At the other extreme, you could just go to Station 1 and then make your way back for a 30-minute workout.
For this trip, we'll take the classic trail - a 5km loop through all the Stations. As this is a training climb, we will not stop for too long at Stn 6.
Our planned itinerary:
0800H Meet at Food Court next to Econsave (opp Shell Stn)
0815H Drive to trailhead
0830H Start trek
0945H Arrive Station 6, short rest
1000H Continue descend
1045H Arrive trailhead
(Those who wish to have breakfast at the Food Court before the hike should ideally be there at 0715H.)
After the hike, we can proceed for late breakfast (or early lunch) somewhere near, or we could try out the XO Fish Head Mee Hoon at nearby Taman Segar.
